Known Symptoms

Infection with HSV-1 (oral herpes) or HSV-2 (genital herpes)
Close skin-to-skin contact or sexual contact with an infected individual
Weakened immune system or other health conditions

Swab or PCR test to confirm viral infection
Antiviral medications such as acyclovir or valacyclovir to reduce severity and frequency of outbreaks
Avoid direct contact with infected areas during active outbreaks
Safe sexual practices and patient education to prevent transmission
