Care Before the Procedure
- Inform doctor about ear infections or prior ear surgery.
- Use wax-softening drops if advised beforehand.
- Avoid inserting cotton buds or objects into ears.
- Report dizziness, discharge, or sudden hearing loss.
Care During the Procedure
- Sit comfortably while ear is examined under magnification.
- Wax removed using microsuction or ENT instruments.
- Mild sound or pressure sensation may occur.
- Inform clinician immediately if discomfort or dizziness occurs.
Care After the Procedure
- Keep ears dry for 24 hours if instructed.
- Avoid cotton buds or ear picking.
- Hearing improvement is often immediate.
- Follow-up if symptoms persist or wax recurs.
