Care Before the Procedure
- Avoid sexual intercourse for at least 24 hours before procedure.
- Inform clinician about allergies, medications, or bleeding disorders beforehand.
- Schedule procedure when not menstruating for optimal tissue sampling.
- Arrange for a companion for safety if general anesthesia is planned.
Care During the Procedure
- Remain relaxed and follow the clinician’s instructions for proper positioning.
- Mild cramping may occur; communicate discomfort promptly to the clinician.
- Allow clinician to perform Pipelle suction, curettage, or hysteroscopic sampling.
- Trust anesthesia or numbing agents to minimize pain effectively.
Care After the Procedure
- Expect mild cramping or light spotting for 1–2 days.
- Avoid strenuous activity until cleared by the healthcare provider.
- Take prescribed medications or pain relief as directed.
- Attend follow-up appointment to review histopathology and further management.
Eligibility
- Women with abnormal uterine bleeding requiring evaluation of the endometrium.
- Patients with infertility needing assessment of uterine lining for implantation issues.
- Individuals suspected of having endometrial hyperplasia, malignancy, or infection.
- Women with prior abnormal imaging or clinical findings suggesting uterine abnormalities.
