Care Before the Procedure
- Avoid rubbing or pressing on eyes prior to the test.
- Remove contact lenses unless instructed otherwise.
- Inform examiner of prior eye surgeries or corneal disease.
- Rest eyes and avoid excessive eye strain before measurement.
Care During the Procedure
- Keep head still and eyes open as instructed.
- Focus on the fixation target if using slit-lamp tonometry.
- Blink minimally during measurement for accurate readings.
- Communicate any discomfort to the examiner immediately.
Care After the Procedure
- No special care required after the procedure.
- Resume normal activities immediately.
- Follow-up if elevated intraocular pressure is detected.
- Attend scheduled monitoring or treatment appointments as advised.
Eligibility
- Adults and children at risk for glaucoma or ocular hypertension requiring routine screening.
- Patients with a family history of glaucoma needing early detection and monitoring.
- Individuals on long-term corticosteroids or with systemic conditions affecting eye pressure.
- People undergoing regular ophthalmic evaluations for optic nerve or visual field changes.
