Care Before the Procedure

Care During the Procedure
- Local anesthesia applied to numb the site if needed.
- A thin needle is inserted to collect cells from the lump.
- Mild discomfort or pressure may be felt.
- Multiple passes may be required for adequate sampling.
Care After the Procedure
- Apply gentle pressure and keep the site clean.
- Mild bruising or tenderness is normal.
- Monitor for swelling, bleeding, or infection.
- Follow-up to receive cytology results and discuss next steps.
